Artist: Kepik

Kepik is an up and coming progressive house producer who is about to have a big big year. His outstanding use of well known vocals layered over big room progressive instrumentals make his music catchy, immediately recognizable and dare I say, moving. Taylor swiftt, Adele, Elle Goulding and the list goes on...all have been fantastically remixed by Kepik.

While vocal remixes might be his calling card, his original progressive tune Prepare is what first caught my attention. This tune is the essence of progressive house: big, beautiful, and energetic yet with soft moments that are undeniably emotional. It has a fantastic balance between aggression and beauty, and treading that line effectively is the hallmark of a gifted progressive producer. Also consider he created this track back in 2014...and he's only gotten better since then.

Another subtle but awesome attribute is how he presents himself on social media. He always comes across as a normal, humble dude who works his ass off to produce the best music he can. He also always takes the time to personally respond to the fans that compliment his work...that's rare, and pretty damn awesome. Basically, gatitude + strong work ethic + humble = winning combo , and a large part of why I believe he has such a bright future.

He currently holds a residency at one-of-the-most established electronic music nightclub in San Francisco, Ruby Skye. He has shared nights with global headliners such as Dash Berlin, Sander van Doorn, Paul van Dyk, Cedric Gervais, Thomas Gold, Audien, Tom Swoon, Kryder, Tom Staar and many other top names. 2016 is going to be a big year for this young talent so make sure to stay connected and follow him on his Facebook and Twitter . You heard it here first! (1/29/16)

Artist: Dillon Nathaniel

Dillon Nathaniel is an Orange County based producer who has equal parts raw creativity and technical know-how. Getting his first taste of electronic music from his dad at age 7, he was hooked. He then went on to graduate from both the Musicians Institute and Icon Collective. After recently graduating from I.C, he has been on a tear, releasing some of the most high quality 'unknown' electronic music the interwebs have to offer.

The first song that caught my attention was FYOF. It's simplistic effectiveness is a hallmark of a quality producer. Heavy, well produced, danceable yet SIMPLE...and sporting a very Chris-Lake-from-2-years-ago-ish type vibe. That's rare. And it sets the bar high for a dirty bassline house track.

But like any good producer, that's not all he has. Remix you say? How about a stellar Red Hot Chilli Peppers remix. This is the type of song that would resonate at any major festival and there's no doubt he's on the path to play this in front of tens of thousands.

It's been a thrill to have him on SpotlightEDM because he posted his songs here without any intervention or sales pitch...there was no pre-acknowledgement. He saw the value of Spotlight and took the 3 seconds necessary to post his music...I only hope to find more new artist just like him. If you know of up-and-coming Dj's or producers who need a boost, send them this way and have them share their work!

Artist: Wilks

Eric Wilkinson, aka, Wilks, is a dirty house master. His style incorporates the best elements of raw bassline house along with a healthy dose of old school west coast hip hop. The resulting mixture is almost nostalgic yet totally new and reinvented.

What really makes Wilks unique is that he hasn't really conformed to the new deep house infatuation...he's paved his own lane. He's been able to stay just ahead of the curve by combining the best elements of house with the raw, grimy appeal of hip hop. The synergistic combination has propelled him into a class unto himself: catchy as hell, immediately recognizable, yet properly unique and with a sort of grimy depth that you rarely come across.

Regardless of how you define it, his sound is undeniable and extremely well suited to smash dance floors all summer long. He's already provided direct support for Bob Sinclar, Riva Starr, Treasure Fingers, Pipes, Thomas Jack, Purity Ring and many others. With summer quickly approaching, his status will only grow and I'd predict some major headlining gigs in the next 6 months.

His new EP is due to drop in a few months and having heard some of it already I can say with authority, it's his best work yet. It's going to be fun to watch this young artist really break into the main stream in 2015.

Make sure to check out his user page on SpotlightEDM and follow him on his Twitter and Soundcloud . You heard it here first! (1/16/2015)

Artist: Black Girl White Girl

It's amazing to see two female Dj's come onto the scene and get it totally right. These two - one from Amsterdam, one from Tel Aviv (aka "black girl white girl")- have been curating the best deep/tech house there is to offer and serving it up via amazing Blackgirlwhitegirl hour-long DJ mixes.

While the electronic music spectrum is full of producers that could be described as unique, you'll be hard pressed to find a female ensemble who mix it up like these two. With an uncompromising love for Chicago house, their sound switches with ease as it takes influence from current styles of bass, garage & R&B. The emerging sound sound is undeniably catered to the dance floor.

BLACK GIRL/WHITE GIRL are currently based and making music in the amazing city of Tel Aviv, Israel. With a steady flow of productions being released, it seems that the girls have built a solid platform from which to take on 2014 and beyond. Make sure to check their entire collection out here . Follow them on and Twitter and Facebook as well. you heard it here first. (8/22/2014)

Artist: Autograf

Autograf is an anomaly in the pool of super talented music creators. How long have they been making music? Not even a year...that's it. What'd they do before then? Well, just about everything. Sculpting, graphic design, fine arts, basically everything that's artistically challenging. Turns out Autograf is equally gifted in the musical realm.

From starting out with some street art around Chicago with the only identifier being the words 'Autograf' on wheat pastings, these three have quickly figured out how to jump artforms and make deep, powerful and undeniably amazing house tracks. With 1.5 million Soundcloud plays and growing, Autograf has gained critical acclaim in the blogosphere being named to Indie Shuffles annual Best Remixes award along with numerous features on ThisSongIsSick, Thump/Vice, Dancing Astronaut, Gotta Dance Dirty and more. True talent is obvious, and basically, everyone is taking notice.

The future is bright for these super talented producers. Do yourself a favor and check out ALL their songs on their user page. Each is just as brilliant as the next. Follow them on their Twitter and Facebook to stay up to date with new shows, releases, etc. Make sure to share their amazing music and accelerate their rise to stardom. You heard it here first! Artist: OLWIK

I'm not sure what I was doing at 17 but it sure as hell wasn't producing tracks like Herman Olvik, aka OLWIK. Beautiful, intricate, moving, and dare I say, Alesso-esk, OLWIK knows exactly how to emotionally move people with sounds. His background in music theory provides him with the knowhow to fashion absolutely beautiful melodies...and my god does he put that to good use.

With the biggest stages in the world clearly in his sights, OLWIK masterfully crafts progressive house tunes that somehow, almost effortlessly, breath new life into a genre that has largely become stale since about 2012. With big distorted kicks and 'Animal-esk' upper register percussive sounds reigning supreme, it's awesome to see someone cut through the noise and show that at the end of the day, a drop is fun, but a melody is moving. Well done.

At only 17 the sky's the limit for OLWIK. His initial offerings on soundcloud have been fantastic...from the remix of Pendulum's - 'The Island ' to his original Infinitude , his undeniable talent shines through in every track. It will be a treat to see him climb the ranks considering how relatively unknown he is at the moment. It's our hope we can help speed that process along.

Want to help his inevitable rise to stardom? Make sure you share his OLWIK Spotlight user page with friends and keep up with him on Twitter and Facebook. You heard it here first! (5/30/2014)

Artist: Alpha Noize

Hailing from Finland, Allan Nyman aka Alpha Noize is an up and coming dubstep producer with some serious skill. With a sound that's somewhere between Point Blank and Must Die, his wonky productions tastefully incorporate big aggressive leads, melodic builds and a ridiculous amount of head-nodding swing. Sure you can make a song drop hard. Sure you can create a massive lead that sounds like the speakers are tearing in half. But that's not really what hooks people. There has to be a balance between melody and aggressiveness, i'll call it musicality, and his tracks tread that line perfectly.

After several collaborations with the likes of Panda Eyes and EH!DE, countless features on the EDM Network, and signing to Raving Badger, this young producer is well poised to explode onto the scene in the near future. His dedication to the craft pushes him to crank out massive tunes on the regular, so make sure to keep up with him over on his Facebook and Twitter. Oh and one last thing, he's working on an entirely free EP that in his words "will be hugee!!". We can't wait :) (5/2/2014)

Artist: Orphic

Future funk, Electro Soul, Disco Bass... Who really knows what to call it. The fact of the matter is that 21 year old Joel Jakub, aka Orphic, is at the forefront of an emerging genre that combines the smooth soulful sounds of 60's funk with modern techniques and creativity. It's slightly glitch, slightly dub, and undeniably funky, the perfect type of music for a warm summer afternoon, drink in hand, relaxing with good people.

It should come as no surprise that Orphic hails from the creative nexus that is Venice Beach, California. Those who have taken a stroll down the boardwalk will understand how his music shares so many parallels. Modern but not, slightly odd, a little chaotic, familiar but distinctly different. Orphic is a breath of fresh air, demonstrating that EDM has much more to offer than mainstream big room house and aggressive over-done drops.

Graudating from Icon Collective in late 2012, Joel created Orphic in early 2013 and has already put out a full length EP, Fractal Beach . Every track is a testament to why he chose to pursue music in the first place: to make people get up, get down, and wiggle a bit - no matter where they are or what mode they're in. I'd say mission accomplished.

With a ton of collaborations in the works, more live shows being booked all the time, and a fantastic first EP under his belt, 2014 will be a big year for Orphic. Keep up to date with him over on his Facebook and Twitter and make sure to pick up his latest EP, you won't be disappointed. (3/14/2014)

Artist: Barely Alive

Barely Alive are here to do one thing: destroy dance floors with a brand of dubstep madness that is somewhere between Skrillex and Knife Party. Their madness, however, is very very well controlled. Flawless production quality is the first thing you notice. Every track is perfectly mixed, loud as hell, but still retains enough separation to remain dynamic...that's nearly impossible to do right. Next you notice their creativity matches their technical knowhow. Justin Bieber + dubstep anyone? Sounds like a horrible idea right? Who knew this was possible...mind blown.

Since their first release less than a year ago, the guys have racked up multiple Beatport top 10s, millions of youtube plays and have remixed for Datsik and Getter, Virtual Riot and Astronaut, as well as having some big collaborations in the works. Their brand new EP "Lost in the Internet " comes out today on beatport (2/24) and is a must have.

Considering how much talent these guys have and how relatively new they are to the scene, there's no doubt they are going to do huge things in 2014. Make sure to follow them on their Facebook and Twitter , you heard it here first. (2/24/2014)

Dylan Ragland, aka Party Favor, has an insane ability to create massive bass tracks that are always crowd favorites. He does this in two ways: top notch technical production and clever use of well known vocal samples. Masterful implementation of both of these elements make his tracks fun as hell while at the same time, bone jarringly loud, clear and precise. That's a winning combo, and his latest productions G-String and the Major Lazer remix - Bumaye are must listens. Looking for an hour long set with the same sort of energy? Be sure to check out his featured guest mix for Wantickets

It's been a big year for Party Favor, playing alongside the likes of Dillon Francis, Michael Woods, Hook N Sling, Rusko, and Ken Loi to name a few. He's graced the decks at such notable establishments as Dim Mak Studios, Yost Theater, Avalon, Body English and many others. With the types of moves he's making and top notch tracks he's producing, Party Favor is one to keep on your radar for 2014.

Artist: POSSO

I had the pleasure of meeting these two a few years back and knew they were something special. POSSO consists of two lifelong friends Marylouise Pels and Vanessa Giovacchini. Talented and beautiful, these two do it all: they DJ, write their own music, model AND have their own fashion lines. Needless to say, I was impressed.

Since then, they have performed at clubs and festivals across the globe, with appearances at events such as the Summer Sonic music festival in Japan, Hard festival's Holy Ship cruise, and the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas. Their line of leather accessories boasts a celebrity fan base that includes Rihanna and Victoria Beckham, and in 2012 they designed a capsule collection for skate and surf brand Volcom.

Currently, they curate background music for the W Hotels worldwide, work with major fashion brands such as Nasty Gal, Neiman Marcus and Smashbox, travel internationally for DJ gigs, AND are busy writing and producing their first album. Damn that's some dedication! It's no wonder they are blowing up.

Listen to their live sets as well as originals here. Also make sure to stay up to date on their upcoming shows via Facebook (1/17/2014)

Artist: M35

My good friend and amazing up-and-coming producer Mes (aka M35) is our first featured artist. If you haven't heard of him yet, go check his profile out here and you'll understand why he's poised to pop big time in 2014.

I met Mes a little over 2 years ago at a friends house where we talked a bit about production, exchanged our Soundcloud monikers and went our separate ways. I didn't think much about it at the time, but, the next day I went to check out his Soundcloud and WOW was I surprised. His productions were all INSANELY good, like to the point where I didn't understand how he wasn't already famous, and he only had something like 100 followers...

Since then he's done nothing but put out epic new tunes, play more local shows and build up his following. From scoring a slot at EDC Orlando after winning the Insomniac Discovery Project with his track Moment to collaborating with Makj on Revolution (one of the top 10 tracks of TomorrowWorld ), Mes has been on a tear this last year and is poised to move into the big leagues in the very near future. Keep an eye out for some huge upcoming collaborations as well as live performances in and around LA. Facebook (1/9/2014)

We are live! The relaunch is official. It is my hope that you enjoy the site and tell a friend, that's the best thing you can do to help make this a success. Thank you in advance. (1/8/2014)
